Dear Readers,

My name is Sascha Steinhoff, I am the publisher of the German ScanMagazin (no "e" here ;) and author of Scanning Negatives and Slides and The VueScan Bible, both published by Rockynook. I am always happy about feedback regarding the books or about any other aspect of scanning, as this will help me to improve future editions.

Regarding the structure of the website: I tried to build up its predecessor in English and German language at the same time, but unfortunately it did not went well. It's simply too much work for a single person and as a result I ended up with two websites that I was not really happy about. When I had to migrate it to a new CMS I decided to focus on one language from now on. An that's German, for the simple reason that even my old English pages had much more visitors from Germany than from the United States or other English-speaking countries, please compare the screenshot below.

To sum it up: This English website serves just as a contact point, from here I link to some content and downloads that international visitors might appreciate. The fully featured website with current scanning-news and so on is accessible via the German language flag at the top of the page.

I will of course continue to answer the requests of my international visitors in English. If you have any inquiry, don't be shy, just drop me a mail. I am highly interested to get and stay in touch with people, companies and associations that in some ways deal with the digital preservation of analog pictures.
